Hello All!
I am sure you have been wondering where this suburbanite has been hiding the last few weeks?!
Welllllll, as a matter of a fact, I have been kind of busy getting all of my end of summer activities in order including our first ever BloggerConnect event at Dragonfly.
This blogger meetup was beyond my expectations. I had a great time meeting Sooe from
The Haute Cookie, Nekiah of From Rez to the City, Berty of Mad For Fashion, Meredith from Create That Outfit, Amy of My Plus 1, and of course myself.
Meredith's husband (who gets the husband of the year award for this) agreed to photograph that evening, and I have yet to get my hands on any of the pics, so for now here are some from my own camera.

Saturday night, we celebrated my old co-workers wedding in Dallas.
Her ceremony was beautiful, and wasn't her dress stunning?!
The reception was at the Dallas World Aquarium and was one of the most fun receptions I have ever been to. The setting was amazing since you had to walk through a jungle to get to the reception room!
There was even a waterfall as you can see from the pic below.
I rocked the bun and a simple floral dress that night.
The colors in one of the dining rooms were just perfect with all the fish tanks in the background.
We had such a wonderful time!
Sunday night, my good friend George celebrated his 30th birthday and decided to smoke a whole hog along with several other meats. It was delicious and super fun getting to celebrate with him.
He named the pig, Wilbur!
The beginning of the week was spent getting ready for my summer orchestra camp held at school. Tuesday, I had the opportunity to attend the pre-opening party at Blaine's Salon in Uptown.
The space is so beautiful, and is open as we speak. The salon has so many services, its basically a one stop shop for getting your hair done, make-up, tanning, botox, facials, and hair products!
Blaine himself on the right.
The salon was enormous, and so chic!
Natasha Best did my make-up, and it looked fantastic. I have never really had the guts to do my make up so bold, but I think it looked really good.
Meredith, Amy, and I!
Meredith was also in attendance, and looked fabulous with her blow out and make up done.
And lets not forget Amy who looked stunning after her touch up.
The party in my hair is not over yet as you can tell from the picture below, the salon sent us home with some amazing goodie bags full of Blaine's products, and a cookie :)
I wish I could tell you the fun was over, but indeed it was not.
My good friend Kirsten posted on FB that she had tickets for the Under the Sun Tour with 5 awesome 90's bands that was coming to Allen (one suburb over). At first I was too shy to tell her I would like to go, but after a few days I texted her and asked if anyone had asked to come with. Turns out, I ended up being the lucky one, and it was a blast!
We started the night with Fastball (who is from Austin, who knew?) and then were treated
to a set by Vertical Horizon who was actually really good live!
Vertical Horizon
Gin Blossoms was next, and also put on a good show.
Smashmouth was the most fun since we sneaked down to the floor and were practically on stage we were so close. We danced, and sang, and got our picture taken by some creep in front of us who we had no idea who he was....! But overall, a blast!
Sugar Ray went before Smashmouth but I decided Mark McGrath photobombed our picture as you can see in the photo below!
A very fun couple of days, but I am exhausted!
Next week teachers go back to work and school starts Monday, August 26th, where has the summer gone?!
Hope your summer is coming to an end beautifully, and I hope to hear form you!
