Dallas Mini-Vacay

Hello Everyone!

(This post started out as a recap of one of our Dallas trips, but turned into a recap of the last 2 months, hope you enjoy!)

A few weeks ago we decided to take a mini stay-cation in Dallas for a few days.

We decided to keep it low key, and eat as much good food as possible.

We stayed at the Westin Stonebriar, our favorite hotel and headed for the pool our first day.

Sloane was all about the floaty (which we had to use in the hot tub since it was too cold to get in the pool) but Ford wanted no part. He refused to get in the water, and instead enjoyed the awesome putting green by the pool. He loved holding the golf club, and Sloane liked just chasing the golf balls. It was really cute!

I think Ford is going to love the greens when he gets a little older.

Our first night, we went to dinner at what we think is the best cajun restaurant in the Dallas area, NOLA. My in-laws met us for dinner the first night and the kids

On our second day there, I met up with an old friend for lunch, then headed to Fort Worth for a trip to Joe T's. For those of you who don't know, I went to TCU in FW for 2 years before I transferred to SMU and I never once went to Joe T's in my time there! Since then we try to make it at least once a year, the enchilada dinner is our favorite and the atmosphere is one of a kind.

The kids were actually well behaved and we couldn't leave without a picture in the garden :)

The last full day, we made a visit to Eatzi's for some sandwiches then tried to get bunny/Easter pictures at Northpark. The line was so long we opted to skip it this year, and instead decided to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a trip to Aw Shucks in Frisco for some seafood. I know, so not Irish, but we enjoyed it.

The following week was Easter and we headed out to Tulsa for some Simmonds family time.

I used the kids Easter Baskets from last year to take pictures.

There's a beautiful park in Midtown Tulsa with stunning tulips so we decided to do a little photoshoot with the flowers.

Sunday morning was rainy, but we tried to make it to church anyway. We got there late, and Ford was so fussy we had to leave after just a few minutes. It was so embarrassing and a major fail.

The kids were all decked out in their Easter best with suspenders and everything.

We had a few days of nice weather so we played outside and Ford had his first kite experience.

Cutie!

My handsome looking like he is taking a selfie with a selfie-stick!

Philbrook Museum fun in the gardens.

The Mr. grandmother's house has the most beautiful peony bush and even though the mowers mow over it all year long, it always comes back with the biggest most beautiful blooms.

This is Sloane in the backyard on a sunny day!

The weekend before my B-day we went to T-town and I got my hair done. I colored it a bit, which I have not done in ages, what do y'all think?

We tried to get a family pic before dinner, but were unsuccessful. The kids are way too squirmy these days.

Attempt #2 on Mother's Day went better, but look at Ford's face!

We visited OU's stadium a few weeks ago, and since the field was open for graduation, we snuck in and took some pics of Ford, it is a very large stadium!

The kids have really enjoyed playing outside lately, this was a gloomy rainy day, so I could't resist having them wear their rain jackets, so cute!

 Sloane with the pretty flowers.

Well, that's what we have been up to lately, hope you enjoyed stopping by!
