A Fall Tulsa Wedding

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Zac and I headed to Tulsa for a wedding yesterday. The venue for the ceremony and reception was the Philbrook Museum, a beautiful estate turned museum with the most beautiful garden!

The weather seemed terrible, but the rain stayed away....

The ceremony was short and sweet

This was the J Crew dress I blogged about a couple of days ago

The restaurant in the museum was the setting for the reception, the happy couple walked in through the balcony, you can kind of see them at the top

Couldn't resist taking a picture of my Loubi's

The chairs were decorated with pretty flowers

All in all, a beautiful wedding. So happy for you Whitney and Joe!

J CREW and Fall

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Hello Blogging Peeps!

I miss y'all :)

Sorry I have not kept up on blogging as regularly, but y'all know how it is for teachers once the school year gets going! It never stops...

Yesterday,  Zac's family came into town to attend his football game. Unfortunately, the team lost :(

Today, after All-Region Boot Camp, we went to eat at my favorite Mexican place, and headed to the outlets to try and find a dress for a wedding we are going to next weekend. We looked at Neiman Marcus Last Call, BCBG, and of course I found my dress at, you guessed it, J CREW!

I love it and cant wait to show y'all, but it will have to wait till after the wedding. I want it to be a surprise!

Today, I want to show you the cute polka dot skirt I found (at J CREW)

And, the dress my MIL got me from Target...

Isn't it the cutest?!

Excuse my face... Zac always makes me feel awkward when I take pictures!

My MIL also brought me some fall decor goodies for my dining room, what do y'all think?

Love this Halloween frame!

The mister and I are just hanging out at home together for the first time in a while, planning on renting the Five Year Engagement.

Have you watched it?

Hope to hear from you,
~Mrs. S

Last night, I took my students on an impromptu trip to the Dallas Chamber Symphony concert at the new Dallas City Performance Hall!

It was a great concert complete with Mozart's overture to The Marriage of Figaro, a really cool Spanish poem by Manuel De Falla, and Beethoven's Symphony No 7

My students really got a kick out of the Allegretto movement of the Beethoven symphony cause we played it last spring with the band!

It was really neat to show my students the Dallas Arts District, and especially cool that we were at the opening week of the Hall. So excited to be an Arts patron in Dallas these days.

Jaylee turns 8

Monday, September 17, 2012

Sunday was my niece Jaylee's birthday
All my family used to say she looked just like me as a baby, and as she grows, I see a resemblance :)

My sister Veronica, her mommy

She took forever blowing out the candle, it was really funny!

Saturday on the Boulevard

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Today was my first time on the Blvd. since last year.

I went with my mom and nephew to walk around and see if we could find a good deal on tickets. After a while, we were not able to find any and we didn't get to the game, which is probably a good thing since we got slammed 48-3 :( and tickets were 85 a pop

We still had fun walking around in this amazing weather...

This is my nephew Sebastian and I, in front of Perkins Chapel where Zac and I were married

Fun afternoon with these two :)

Did your college team win today?

Friday's Letters

Friday, September 14, 2012

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with such awesome students this year, this past three weeks have been a blast! So excited to be a teacher these days!

Dear Husband,
Three years ago (september 12th) you asked me marry you and it was one of the sweetest days of my life.

Dear Friends,
I miss you.

Dear house,
I love it when you fill the air with fresh flower scent.

Dear weather,
Thank you for staying in the lower temperatures and tempting me to wear fall outerwear...

Dear Blog hoppers,
If you are a new visitor, feel free to become a follower :) If you are a follower, thank you and I miss your comments! I have had a bunch of blog views, and no new followers and very few comments (wah!) I promise to post more often, and I'm super tempted to host a giveaway, from my favorite store J Crew maybe??...

Did I get your attention? Good! Hope to see you again soon!

Hope you all had a great week!

Christian Louboutin

Sunday, September 9, 2012

I finally did it!
I took the plunge and invested in some Christian Louboutin's!

I chose this beautiful pair exclusively for Neiman Marcus about 6 months ago for many reasons...
But mainly because they are gorgeous!

First off, they are the glamorous version of the nude shoe, and we all love a good nude shoe
Second, the are sling back which means they will fit perfectly for my awkward size feet 7.75-8
Third, because even my husband admitted they looked like a "million dollar"shoe!

This was me at Neiman Marcus on FNO trying them on,
what's funny is that they are a 39 which is the equivalent to a size 9 in American sizes, but
if you are planning to buy Louboutin's, make sure you either try them on at the store, or order them a size bigger online. The run at a larger size!

This is a view from the front!

This was me wearing them for the first time at the DSO 2012 Gala last night

So excited for my first pair of Louboutin's

Do you own a pair?

~Mrs. S

DSO Gala 2012

And so it was...

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra 2012 Gala and After Party!

I had an amazing time, caught up with old friends, and experienced my first Christian Louboutin night!

The Gala theme this year was French inspired, the dinner was set up like a French bistro

The music was superb, Dvorak "New World Symphony" and Yo Yo Ma played Shumann Cello Concerto, personally, I liked the symphony better...

Yo Yo Ma and Maestro Van Sweden

My student Diana and I before the concert

Amy Espinoza of "Be Amy" and Clishade Cosmetics

My friend Christine Hwang Weege who was at SMU with me and GDYO in high school and is now a violist for the Dallas Symphony!

After Party, so fun!

I sneaked a pair of flip flops behind the FD Luxe stand so that I wouldn't wear my Louboutin's in the parking lot :)

Amazing night!

~Mrs. S

Oh, yeah...
Zac didn't end up going cause he went to a football game.
I know, you get married so you have a date for these kinds of things, but I didn't mind.
(Well, that's not the only reason...)
I had a great time anyway!!!

Fashion's Night Out in Dallas was tonight, and it was fabulous!!!

Northpark Mall sure knows how to throw a fashion party

First, was the runway fashion show featuring
Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, and several other shops around the mall
It was packed...

I was able to get a great group to join me
Mayra, Kelsey, Leah, Veronica, Gloria, and Me :)

The Roberto Cavalli boutique had several Oscar gowns displayed in front of their shop,

Victoria Beckham's was my favorite

So glad my student Leah made it out!
Post coming soon about the item in the Neiman's Bag!!!

My sis Veronica, and Cousin Mayra

Did you go out tonight? How was your Fashion's Night Out...?

A Football Weekend!

Monday, September 3, 2012

As you all know, football is pretty important in Texas, but especially in North Texas. We have the Dallas Cowboys, a killer High School football record, and some of the NFL's best players usually come from Texas. This is why one of my neighboring suburbs decided to spend $60 million dollars on their football stadium, and this is it...

The Mr. has a good friend whose son plays at Celina High School. If you have ever watched Kenny Chesney's "The Boys of Fall" video, this is the high school they feature and made a whole documentary on. The whole town is crazed about football which is why I agreed to go to the game Saturday night since I didn't go to Zac's game on Friday night. Well, the fans are some of the loudest I have ever encountered, the coach screamed at one of the football players uglier that I have ever seen in my life (in front of everyone) and everyone was CRYING after they lost! It was intense.

Sunday, Zac, Leah (my student who is a senior in HS) and I went to the SMU vs Baylor game in Waco. It was an hour and a half drive, and in the 100's. We played pretty terrible from the beginning, which I was not expecting from my Mustangs, but oh well. We decided we would stick to SMU games in Dallas from now on.

How was your first weekend of the football season?
