Weekend Roundup!

Monday, November 14, 2016

Hi Eveyone!

Talk about a great weekend.

Friday night was the Mr.'s playoff game in Clinton (3 hours away) so we opted not to go. Unfortunately for the team, they lost, but fortunately for my family, we get our daddy back and it will be nice to have him around more!

Saturday morning we headed to Norman for our first OU game ever! We found great deal on tickets, and Norman is only an hour away so we were happy to be able to go watch the Sooners WIN!

Ford and Sloane were very well behaved and seemed to have a wonderful time. We stayed until the end of the 3rd quarter which was way longer than we thought, so we were so glad we went!

Ford looked so cute in his OU hat :)

We had seats against a wall, which was the perfect place for us since the kids could wiggle around and not bother anyone.

We didnt realize how strong the sun was going to be shining on us, so that was the only thing we wish we had prepared for, it was in the 60's so I wore a long sleeve and black pants and was burning up! The kids were a little sun burned in the face, but nothing that a little sun block couldn't fix :)

Sunday was a big day in our family. We had the twins dedicated at church. It was the most beautiful experience, and goes to show how much God is watching over our family and making sure we live our lives by his word.

The twins received a gift from the church (a Chidren's Bible Story book) and a letter from our pastor. Sloane looked adorable in her special dress.

We enjoyed some yummy cake after lunch from Wal-Mart that I had custom ordered.
It was not the colors I expected, but it got the point across :)

This past week has been quite the emotional roller-coaster but we now look forward to the future.

Hope you all have an amazing week, thanks for stopping by!

Weekend Recap

Monday, November 7, 2016

Hello Readers!

Thank you for stopping by. The kids are napping and I am watching WAGS: Miami. Is anyone else also addicted to this horrible trash TV?? I watch these shows about women with glamorous lifestyles and luxury homes/cars/vacations, and yet think they are the dumbest most ill-behaved people on the planet! It's like a train-wreck I can't stop watching...

Anyway, last weekend we had a low key Friday night in since the Mr. had an away game (which they WON!) and my friend came over to watch Bad Mom's with me. I liked some parts of it and thought it was kind of funny, but some of it was just crazy unrealistic and stereotypical. I would recommend watching it, but it wasn't my fav.

Saturday we headed to Dallas for a little family time and a funeral mass for a student's father who recently passed. The twins came with me, and it was quite a bit of work, but thankfully I had my niece helping me. I was sad to miss the SMU Homecoming parade which was also that day, but I figured there will always be a homecoming parade, and it was really important to me that I be at the mass. I saw my student for the first time in a year and a half. I feel so bad for them, but know that eventually they will be ok.

We came back that evening, and I decided to leave them with the Mr. when I went to church on Sunday. The time change didn't affect us too much, and we had fun watching the Cowboys WIN for the 7th straight time!

I decided to do laundry yesterday, which I normally don't (I like to space it out throughout the week so I don't feel like I am doing it all at once) and I have plans for a yummy enchilada dinner tonight followed by the premiere of Vanderpump Rules, I am so pumped for this season! Again, I know I am addicted to bad reality TV, but I can't help it!

We also started watching Home Alone last night since we had some time to kill before bath time and the twins seemed to really enjoy it! I think it is because the music score is so good that it caught their attention, either way, the Mr. and I always watch that movie around Christmas time, so we are looking forward to watching it with the kids.

Now cheers to a busy week ahead, hope you all had a wonderful Monday and that you enjoyed stopping by!

Weekend Happenings

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

Hello Everyone!

I decided to do my weekend round up on a Tuesday because Halloween was last night and I wanted to include it in my post.

Last Friday was the last home game of the season and Ada WON!

It was a very important win as they are now in the play-offs and the Mr. looks good as he is the offensive coordinator and they scored lots of points!

We went to the game for a bit and the kids had a great time running around.

Saturday we spent the day hanging out watching the SMU game, who also happened to WIN, and then we headed to OKC to have dinner with my in laws. We got back and watched OU beat Kansas which was also awesome.

Sunday we went to church and since S had a really cute Halloween dress I decided to have her wear it and Ford had to match to her :)

After their nap, we went to a trunk or treat at our neighbors church with her grandkids. It was really neat to see the kids amazed by the costumes. S was really into collecting the candy, but F wanted no part of the trick-or-treating, just the eating!

We finished off the weekend watching the Cowboys win against the Eagles, I guess you could say we had a WINNING weekend here in the Simmonds house!

Last night we finally dressed up and went trick-or-treating at our friends neighborhood. Ford was a golfer and Sloane was a lady bug (again).

There is a block of houses that are really big and usually they decorate and put scary props for trick-or-treaters, this house was especially in the spirit! S got really scared at one of the skeletons that popped out, she screamed crying!

This big house was not as scary, but still fun to visit.

Once we trick-or-treated for about an hour, we came back home to pass out candy. Luckily there was still some kids coming by, cause there is nothing worse for a house full of toddlers than a bowl full of left over Halloween candy! This little girl came by and I was so impressed by her costume, she looked so cute!

Another busy week ahead, so I have to get back to it!

Thanks for stopping by,

Scenes from our Weekend

Monday, October 24, 2016

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a great week. We had fall break so several of my weekly activities were cancelled which was nice after a few weeks of constant movement. We had a weekend for the books as we got to go to the Mr.'s away game in Tulsa and they WON! It was an unexpected win so we were all in great moods. Friday we returned from Tulsa after visiting Nan, and running some errands.

The kids enjoyed being at the football game, but after the first half we had to head home since they were being a little too adventurous and running up and down the stands!

Ford was really intrigued by the Cougar mascot.

They also really enjoyed my MIL's halloween pumpkins.

Saturday afternoon we headed to Dallas for the day to check out the new Shake Shack in downtown and then head to the SMU game. It has been about 5 years since the Mr. has even been to an SMU game so we were pretty pumped.

We got to Dallas around 3 and headed straight to SS. Overall it was great but we did have to wait in line a bit and we had never been so we didn't know to order double cheeseburgers, we got the single and it seemed a bit small for the price. The shakes were delish, we even let the kids have a taste :)

We went to Trader Joe's for a bit and drove through our old neighborhood, oh memories of our Midway house...

we finally got to the Blvd. and you would have thought we were at a theme park because F&S had a blast running around and exploring. Last year at this time they weren't even walking so it was so much fun watching them enjoy the beautiful campus.

We tried to go to the actual game, but we decided the kids were too wiped out and we werent prepared for dealing with fussy toddlers though a football game so we opted out. Boy did we regret that choice because SMU ended up winning against U of H (a ranked team) which has not happened in over 30 years! Things are looking up for the Mustangs and we were so happy despite not going to the game.

We decided to have one last meal in Dallas before we came back since we don't have many places to eat here in Ada. We headed to Blue Fish in Watters Creek for some sushi.

Sloane enjoyed the edamame, and the waitress brought us some balloons so the kids were well behaved (for the most part).

I'm so glad we went to Watters Creek, the weather was so nice and there was a jazz music performance in the park that is in the middle of the shopping center so we walked around for a bit before making the 2 hour drive home.

Sunday morning I wasn't sure if we were going to make it to church, but was so glad we did. The kids got a good night sleep and were happy to go as well.

After church shenanigans.

So glad the weather is cooling down and we are able to enjoy the outdoors so much more.

Thanks for stopping, I'd love to hear from you!

Weekend Round Up

Monday, October 17, 2016

Hello Everyone!

I am happy to report that we have started the week out great with a workout this morning at the park, a sign language class, and a trip to Aldi!

We had a fun filled weekend with an almost win for the Mr. and the Ada cougars, and a small Halloween party at our house on Saturday.

I tried my best to decorate as much as I could. I mainly used old halloween decor that my MIL has given me over the years, and balloons :)

I joined the Ada FB kids yard-sale page a few months ago and a mom was selling a golfer costume for $10 so I jumped on it and Ford looked so cute!

Sloanie was a ladybug, and was really into the fruit, which surprises me cause there were cupcakes right next to it!

One of my students was a southern belle, so sweet!

All the kids playing in the back!

There ended up being quite a few kids over, and everyone looked so cute in their costumes!

It was a fun time, and I plan to do it again in the future!

Sunday was a wonderful sermon at church and after we had a little photo shoot outside for my MIL's birthday. I made her a chalkboard sign with a poem we wrote for her.

Go Cowboys, can you believe this season!

Thanks for stopping by, please comment and say hello!

Weekend Recap

Monday, October 10, 2016

Hello lovely readers.

I have  few minutes before I head to sign language class with the kiddos so I thought I would stop by and share our weekend experiences.

The Mr. had an away game so we headed to Tulsa for the night.

We got in around 4 since I always leave during their nap time (2-4) and hung out for a while before heading to dinner at Texas Road House.

Sloane wore her red cape for the night.

Saturday morning we headed to a local pumkin patch to take pics of the kids with some pumpkins. Last year was a bust even though we went to the Dallas Arboretum, but this year was a huge success, the kids were so happy walking around the patch and they had coordinating outfits.

After the patch, my MIL and I went to La Madeline, a place I miss so much from Dallas and a place I always forget to go to in Tulsa! It was delish!

We headed home during nap time and I caught Ford with his blankie over his face, too cute!

Sunday we went to church and had a great morning.  Sloane wore a cute dress my MIL got her last year, but it looked great still!

Hope you all enjoyed stopping by, till next time!

Weekend Round-Up!

Monday, October 3, 2016

Hello Everyone!

We had a whirlwind of a weekend beginning with a home game for the Mr.'s team. As much as I would love to say they won, that was not the case. It was a tough game and we all wish the ending was different, but it's part of the game and all of the starting players are hurt so it is what it is.

Either way, we took the kids for a little while and we let them run around for most of the time.

They loved running around with the other older kids who were throwing the ball.

After home games, the wives set up dinner for the coaches and their families. Well it was my turn to host and since I am kind of a control maniac, I decided to take care of the entire meal on my own. My MIL helped me with the sides and desert, and I took care of the taco meat and enchiladas. They turned out amazing and I was so glad I made enough food. This picture does not make the food look that great, but trust me it was!

Saturday morning, we hung around the house enjoying the fall weather in our boots!

That evening I met up with the flute teacher at ECU for dinner at a local restaurant. It was so nice to have some musician talk and relate about how we both miss living in a big city!

Sunday we went to church and then had a little photo session outside. Ford decided to take over the camera!

We had a fun afternoon watching the Cowboys win. The kids were so wiped out they slept in and so far, we have had a great Monday.

Hope you all have a great week!

Weekend Roundup

Monday, September 26, 2016

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all having a wonderful crisp Monday morning now that fall has arrived.

This past weekend was one to remember. My friend from St. Louis decided to meet me in Tulsa for some much needed girl time. We laughed, we talked, and caught up on a years worth of life.

We got to Tulsa around 4 on Friday. The kids slept most of the way, so that was good.

This is them playing in front of my in-laws.

For dinner we decided to check out Brookside, an area of Tulsa that is a lot like Uptown in Dallas.
It was definitely a nice night to be out on the town.

Saturday morning, we met up at Turkey Mountain Park which is also a hiking trail. We decided on a 40 minute trail that ended up being an hour and a half since we got lost and somehow ended up on the more difficult trail. We had the best time and the best workout! I can't believe this place has been here this whole time and I had never been. It is on a medium sized mountain and when the trees are not in the way during winter, you can actually get cool views of the city.

We headed back home to get ready for our afternoon outing and met up for lunch at Stonehorse Cafe in Utica Square. That area is more like Highland Park Village as it has some upscale shopping and other neat boutiques like Kendra Scott. It is no surprise I took these beauties home with me. They also have drinks and desert while you shop so I had to partake in a cake ball :)

After K-S, we headed to Anthropologie to see if there was anything and I did find a Volcano candle for my MIL.

After Utica Square, we headed to the Philbrook which is only 5 min away. I had been a few months ago with the kids, but it was really nice to go sans toddlers and actually enjoy looking at the art.

This was one of my favorite pieces.

The Philbrook sits on a couple acres of land and has the most beautiful gardens. I attended a wedding here a few years ago, and it was stunning. There was actually a wedding setting up on our way out!

Saturday evening we visited the Mr.'s grandmother and had a low key night.

Sunday we met Michelle at the Old School Bagel Co. on Yale for a last meet up so she could see the kids. the kids had the best time hanging out.

We went to a park nearby and the kids loved running around and exploring. Their favorite was this swings, of course.

We headed back to Ada around 3 and made it back though some drizzle.

It was interesting to get to know Tulsa without the Mr. since I got to decide where we went the whole weekend and I am so glad I did. T town is growing on me, little by little.

Thanks for stopping by!
