The Bachelorette

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

Hello Everyone!

I was pretty excited to watch last nights episode of The Bachelorette because I knew our friend
Zak Wadell would  rock the Mr. America contest.

I think this was a great episode with the Jersey Shore date, and the couple who lost everything in Hurricane Sandy. My favorite part of course was watching Zak compete during the Mr. America contest. He claimed to not "sing" or "play guitar" but obviously he was being way too modest, because he sounded amazing. In fact, Zak used to be a karaoke DJ, and is a really good singer. He also "dabbled" in guitar before a few years ago and even sold me his guitar before he moved to New York a few years back.

I play his old guitar all the time....

So far, I think Zak has a great chance of ending up with Des.

Who do you think he will end up with?!

ML Poolside Event

Friday, June 14, 2013

Hello All,

My fabulous friend Kirsten Williams is an event planning guru in the Dallas area and was gracious enough to invite me to the Modern Luxury Poolside event held at Blue Print in Uptown.

The stylish soirée featured everything from skin care to hair products and we had a blast!

Meredith from Create that Outfit accompanied me to the event, she looked amazing!
She was featured in InStyle Magazine as an "inspired" look so I knew she would be a great Plus 1 for this event!

So proud of her!

We had a great time trying out all the different products,
including getting our hair braided

Meredith tried the extensions

We munched on delicious macaroons

And of course I had to snap a pic with the host, Miss Kirsten!

This poolside event was beautiful, and I am so glad I went!

TGIF, have a great weekend!

Weekend Update

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Hello All,

This past week was a whirlwind of events starting with the Vivaldi end of the year party at a Japanese Art gallery that just opened up in Uptown.

We had a great time glancing through the art, and listening to a cellist from the symphony play his amazing interpretation of "Sakura" a Japanese song.

Amy and JT were also there, it was great to catch up with them.

Friday night, Zac and I decided to celebrate my last day of teaching with a little BBQ dinner and a honky-tonk outing at a local country music venue.

You know the BBQ is good if there are nothing but trucks waiting in the drive through at Hutchins BBQ

The food was delicious, we will definitely be going back

After,

We headed to Hanks, a local restaurant that has a small stage and welcomes country artists almost every day of the week. We happened to catch Roger Creager, a contemporary of Pat Green, which I love! It was so fun, he is still very talented, and although I didn't know any of his songs, I still had a great time listening and dancing.

At one point, the band had a accordion and a washboard, so fun!

Saturday, I still had to work, but when I got out, I headed out to Amy's and she gave me a hair makeover, it looks so much better now!

Sunday, was spent cleaning and being at home!

I have a couple of fun things lined up for the rest of the week.

Hope y'all are having a great week!

Museums and Recitals

Saturday, June 1, 2013

Hello Everyone!

I hope your weekend is going well.

I attended the annual SMU Young Alumni event last night at the Meadows Museum with my good friend Michelle and it was a blast!

We caught up with good friends and enjoyed great live jazz music by Meadows students.
We also enjoyed being in the midst of some amazing Spanish Art, as you can see.

Being silly with the serious art...

This amazing sculpture is in front of the museum

This afternoon, I attended my students' recital at the Meyerson Symphony Hall.

My 8 year old student played her solo, Bouree by Handel

My 7th grader Diana also made her Meyerson stage debut!

Very proud of my girls!

Concert and recital season is now over, now just 1 more week of school!
Thanks for stopping by!
